Earl Belcourt, Kelly Poitras, President Harley Desjarlais, Roszan Fiddler-Walker,Al Hodgson The new board of the Métis Provincial Council was recently sworn in to office in Richmond,B.C. more news to come... Message from the Captain of the Hunt(Reprinted from the Métis Matters Forum)Just to bring everyone up to date, we have the following in place and we here in BC are ready to implement the policies we have worked on for a number of years. I only hope that our new Board will recognize the work that has been done to date. 1. A extensive proposal has been handed to the Provincial government, both the Attorney General and the Premier have copies. 2. We now have Regional Captains in every region except 6&7, they will be forthcoming. 3. A harvesting policy has been developed, reflecting the needs of the Metis people and CONSERVATION. 4. I have been working with two registered professional biologist, who are Métis, and they have sent me a full and complete strategy to implement, however, there needs to be a few changes made to this document and we are in the process of doing that right now. 5. We are in the process of putting our appeal together for our court case this coming 18,19 in Cranbrook. What we need now is the full and complete support from our elected leaders here in BC. Thank you,
